Wings Over Texas Hospice is honored to be named a 2026 Hospice CAHPS Honors Elite recipient by MatrixCare, recognizing excellence in patient and caregiver experiences as measured through Hospice CAHPS satisfaction scores.

What the 2026 Hospice CAHPS Honors Elite Award Means
The Hospice CAHPS Honors program recognizes hospice agencies that demonstrate strong performance in the experiences of patients and caregivers.

The program is based on results from the **Hospice Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers and Systems (CAHPS) survey** and recognizes hospice agencies that work with MatrixCare to administer their Hospice CAHPS surveys.
​
For Wings Over Texas Hospice, the 2026 recognition is especially meaningful because **Hospice Honors Elite is the highest level of recognition within the program.*

*To receive Hospice Honors recognition, a hospice must score above the MatrixCare National Score on at least **17 of 22 evaluated questions*"

The **Hospice Honors Elite** designation recognizes hospices that scored above the MatrixCare National Performance Score on **all 22 evaluated questions.

The Hospice CAHPS Honors Elite designation is reserved for hospice agencies whose performance exceeds the MatrixCare National Performance Score on all 22 evaluated questions.
Wings Over Texas Hospice earned this Elite recognition based on performance across all 22 evaluated quality indicators.

How the Hospice CAHPS Honors Elite Award Is Determined
The 2026 Hospice CAHPS Honors program evaluated Hospice CAHPS survey results from **April 2025 through December 2025**, a three-quarter evaluation period aligned with the implementation of the revised CAHPS Hospice Survey.
To qualify for recognition, a hospice agency was required to:*

Work with MatrixCare for Hospice CAHPS survey administration.

Score above the MatrixCare National Score on the **Willingness to Recommend** question (Q31).*

Have at least one completed survey returned in each of the three quarters of the evaluation period.
MatrixCare then evaluated hospice performance across **22 quality indicator measures**.
Individual hospice performance scores were calculated using completed surveys from the evaluation period and compared question-by-question with the MatrixCare National Performance Score calculated from survey data from participating hospices in the MatrixCare Hospice CAHPS database.
